McGill’s Community Band was founded in 1985 as the fulfillment of Dave “McGill” McGillicuddy’s dream. The band consisted of around 35 members in 1985, and today consists of over 60 members from different areas of the state, as well as members from Canada. McGill’s band performs many genres of music- from pop hits, to Sousa marches, to classical pieces, and more. Historically, the band has participated in Houlton’s July 4th Parade, as well R.B. Hall day. McGill’s has been the recipient of several community awards and has received recognition from the Houlton Rotary Club and other organizations. Originally performing in the Monument Park bandstand, McGill’s band is proud to perform in the Houlton Amphitheater each Thursday, June through August, at 7 P.M.
This is the 1st broadcast of McGill's Band Concert in Houlton, Maine on June 1, 2012. The concert was less than an hour long and done in celebration of the Rotary District Conference held in Houlton that weekend.
